Crude from three supply basins
The energy desk buys crude oil from the GCC, West Africa and the Mediterranean and sells it to refiners and traders. Each cargo is bought and sold on terms agreed for that transaction, reflecting the grade, the delivery route and the requirements of both sides.
Crude oils differ in density, sulphur content and yield, and every refinery has its own slate. Matching the right grade with the right buyer is the starting point of every transaction we undertake.

Medium and light crude, quoted to grade
Our grade sheet lists crude oil at API gravity 30 to 40, from the GCC, West Africa and the Mediterranean, in shipments of 500,000 to 2 million barrels, spot or on term. The exact grade, quantity and quality parameters of each cargo are confirmed in the contract and verified by independent inspection.
Delivery terms
The agreed Incoterm decides who charters the vessel, who insures the cargo and where risk passes from seller to buyer.
- FOB Buyer arranges the vessel; risk passes at loading
- CFR Seller pays the freight; risk passes at loading
- CIF Seller pays freight and insurance; risk passes at loading
- DAP Seller delivers to the named destination; risk passes on arrival
